Agartala, Tripura, 17th of July 2026 : The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) celebrated the Ratha Yatra festival at Agartala, Tripura on Thursday (16th July, 2026). The Ratha Yatra, also known as the Chariot Celebration of Lord Jagannath, Devi Subhadra, and Lord Balabhadra, is the most prominent Hindu festival.

On this auspicious occasion, in the presence of many dignitaries Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu and Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha was inaugurated the Ratha Yatra festival.
The Governor prayed for the happiness, peace, and prosperity of the people of Tripura and said that, according to tradition, not everyone can enter the sanctum sanctorum of a temple to have a glimpse of the deity. This tradition, he said, teaches that all human beings are equal in the eyes of God and that humanity and social harmony are the true strengths of society. He further noted that during Rath Yatra, the devotion and attention of devotees remain focused on Lord Jagannath, creating a unique spiritual atmosphere. The festival strengthens social unity, mutual respect, and brotherhood. Referring to the growing global interest in Indian culture and spirituality, the Governor said it reflects the universal appeal and welfare-oriented philosophy of India’s spiritual heritage.
