BJP Holds Protest Rally Against Congress In Dharmanagar; Several Leaders Participate.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 22nd of July 2026 : The 56 Dharmanagar Mandal of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday (22nd July, 2026) organized a protest rally in Dharmanagar town condemning an incident that the party alleges took place outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official residence in New Delhi under the leadership of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

According to the BJP, the incident was against democratic decorum and constitutional dignity. In protest, BJP leaders and workers took out a rally through Dharmanagar, strongly condemning the alleged incident.Among those present at the rally were Dharmanagar MLA Jahar Chakraborty, North Tripura BJP District President Kajal Das, 56 Dharmanagar Mandal President Shyamal Nath, Mahila Morcha leader Rupali Adhikari, Dharmanagar Municipal Council Chairperson Mitali Das Sen, along with several district and mandal leaders and a large number of BJP workers and supporters.

The procession passed through several key roads in the town. During the rally, party workers and supporters raised slogans and expressed their protest against the alleged incident. Addressing the gathering, MLA Jahar Chakraborty said, “The Prime Minister represents more than 1.4 billion people of the country. Any such conduct outside his official residence is not only disrespectful to an individual but also to the constitutional institutions of India. Political differences may exist, but every political party has a responsibility to uphold dignity and decorum in a democracy.”He further added, “The Bharatiya Janata Party has always believed in democratic values. We strongly condemn such incidents and urge all political parties to act responsibly in the future.”
