Grand Ulto Rath Yatra Carnival Held In Dharmanagar In The Presence Of The Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, Winners Felicitated.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 24th of July 2026 : The traditional Ulto Rath Yatra (Return Chariot festival) Carnival was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Dharmanagar of North Tripura marking the auspicious occasion of the return chariot festival on Friday (24th July, 2026).

Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu arrived in Dharmanagar by train on Friday afternoon and later attended the celebrations at Dharmanagar Town Kali Bari at around 6:00 PM. His presence added prestige and significance to this year’s grand festival.The premises of Town Kali Bari and the Dighirpar area came alive with hundreds of devotees and visitors amid a vibrant religious atmosphere, colourful processions, and cultural performances. The Governor received a warm welcome upon his arrival at the temple.

Decorated chariots from different localities paraded through the town before passing in front of Town Kali Bari. The beautifully designed chariots, illuminated with decorative lights and featuring religious themes, captivated the guests and the large gathering of spectators.

Following the carnival, prizes and mementoes were presented to the representatives of the best-decorated chariots, selected by a special evaluation committee. The prize distribution ceremony was held in a festive atmosphere, with enthusiastic participation from both contestants and visitors.

Addressing the gathering briefly, Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu praised Dharmanagar’s traditional Ulto Rath Yatra and Rath Carnival. He said that such religious and cultural festivals play a vital role in strengthening communal harmony, unity, and mutual goodwill, and called upon everyone to work together to preserve the region’s rich cultural heritage. With deep religious fervour, a vibrant cultural atmosphere, and enthusiastic participation from people of all sections of society, this year’s Ulto Rath Yatra Carnival became a memorable and proud celebration for the people of Dharmanagar.

Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were North Tripura District Magistrate Chandni Chandran, Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai, Bagbassa MLA Jadab Lal Nath, North Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Aparna Nath, Dharmanagar Municipal Council Chairperson Mitali Rani Das Sen, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Debjani Choudhury, along with senior administrative officials, public representatives, and other distinguished guests.
