Sonamura, Sepahijala, Tripura, 9th of August, 2026 : Sonamura police during patrolling duty recovered and seized total 25 kg dry Cannabis (Ganja) and Bike at UNC Nagar, Nagar ward no -02, near IB fence Sonamura under Sepahijala District on Sunday (9th August, 2026).
According to sources, Sonamura Police on the basis of secret information conducted ambush at UNC Nagar ward no -02, near IB fence under Sonamura PS, jointly by Sonamura PS and 81 BN BSF but seeing the police & BSF vehicles the bike (TR 07G-9155 pulsar-150 ) rider absconded from this place & we immediately chased him & he fled away from this place after leaves his bike with one plastic bag where kept 25 no, s ESKUF cough syrup bottle.
In this regard one specific case registered at Sonamura PS under NDPS ACT.
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station said about this matter. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
