District-Level Workshop On Drug Prevention & Rehabilitation Under The Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan Organized By West Tripura District Administration.

Agartala, Tripura, 4th of September, 2026 : With the initiative of the District Administration, West Tripura  organized a District-Level Workshop on Drug Prevention & Rehabilitation under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan at Pragna Bhavan, Agartala, Tripura on Thursday (3rd September, 2026).

Addressing at the workshop, District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar said that anti-drug measures should not be limited to taking action against drug carriers or addicts; strict action must also be taken against those involved in the illegal drug trade. He said that individuals involved in the financial transactions of the drug trade, as well as those controlling the drug supply network, must be identified and brought under legal action.At the same time, drug addicts and drug carriers must also be identified so that appropriate treatment and rehabilitation can be provided to them, while punitive action may also be taken wherever necessary. He highlighted the important role of clubs and local residents in preventing drug abuse and urged clubs to work closely with the district administration and police.

He also called upon local residents to collectively take decisions and implement effective measures to make society drug-free. He assured that the district administration would extend all possible support to clubs actively involved in anti-drug initiatives.

At the event Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya conducted a special session on mental well-being, stress management, and spiritual healing. Health experts discussed clinical and medical aspects, along with various treatment methods and protocols for de-addiction.

A separate session was also held on engaging the youth and strengthening institutional awareness. The session emphasized the need for active participation of young people, educational institutions, and various social organisations in preventing drug abuse.

Additional District Magistrate Rakesh Debbarma delivered the welcome address at the event. DSP Seema Biswas spoke about the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the role of the police in tackling drug-related offences.  

Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education Achintam Kilikdar, Gauri Behen of Prajapita Brahma Kumari, senior state administration officials, police personnel and other distinguished guests, were also present at the event.
