Agartala, Tripura, 13th of September, 2026 : Young chess talent Aaradhya Das has scripted a memorable achievement for Tripura at the national level. Competing in the Under-13 National Chess Championship in Puducherry (Pondicherry), she remained unbeaten and accumulated 9.5 points from 11 rounds to claim the championship.
In the final round of the competition, Aaradhya defeated Kerala’s Janaki S.D. in 89 moves while playing with the black pieces. Remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament, her outstanding achievement once again brought glory to Tripura on the national chess stage.
The historic achievement of Aaradhya, a Class VII student of Sri Krishna Mission School, has made her family, teachers, the chess fraternity and the people of Tripura proud. Following in the footsteps of Prosenjit Dutta and Ashiya Das, Aaradhya’s remarkable success is undoubtedly a new milestone in the state’s chess history.

After returning to the state following her success at the national championship, Aradhya received a warm welcome at MBB Airport from her mother Anju Das, maternal uncle Bijoy Das, Badal Chandra Das, her paternal uncle and aunt, and her siblings. The airport premises turned into a scene of joy and emotion as family members gathered to welcome their beloved Aradhya.
Aaradhya expressed her gratitude and happiness as she received a warm welcome from her family and the people of Tripura, whose love and blessings made the occasion especially memorable.
At the airport, representatives of the state chess association, including Anupam Bhattacharya, Indrajit Biswas and Subir Deb, were present to congratulate Aradhya on her achievement. The talented chess player now aims to continue her journey towards greater success on bigger platforms in the coming days.
Aaradhya’s victory is not just a personal achievement; it has added yet another golden feather to the cap of Tripura’s chess.
