With the initiative of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and with the cooperation of the Department of Agriculture, Government of Tripura paddy procurement opened at Teliamura on Thursday (5th January, 2023).
MLA Kalyani Roy visit to the paddy buying center and interacted with the farmers. She said most of the farmers who come to sell paddy are getting an allowance of Rs. 6,000 under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan Yojana). Farmers are happy, because they are able to sell the paddy produced on their land to the State Government at the rate of Rs. 2040 per quintal. She also said farmers are very interested in paddy production, because they do not have to be in the grip of any broker to produce and sell. Farmers are happy and thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Chief Minister and Food Minister.
