Ampi, 21st of November 2023 : Amarpur Police have nabbed 2 persons in connection with the recovery of dead bodies of mother and daughter from Dambur lake. The police officials kept them in strict police custody. They are being interrogated in Birganja police station today. After getting information people gathered there in the police station and the police station was surrounded by local excited people demanding to hand over those two persons to the people.
Sources said that they also tried to vandalize the police station in excitement. To control the mob the police fired tear gas to bring the situation under control. In that situation several women were injured in the gathering. Amarpur SDPO Debanjali Roy faced the allegation saying that tear gas was fired only to control the agitated mob. But police did not do lathicharge to any of the excited locals. Now the situation is under control.
