Drinking Water Crisis In Various Areas Of Dharmanagar, Residents Demand Urgent Solution.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 1st of October, 2026 : The drinking water crisis in Dharmanagar town and adjoining areas is reportedly becoming increasingly severe, according to local residents. Many families are facing difficulties in meeting their daily needs due to irregular and inadequate water supply. The situation is particularly troublesome during the morning and evening hours, when residents have to struggle to collect water.

According to local residents, water supply remains disrupted for long periods in some areas, while in others, water is available only for a short time and with insufficient pressure, making it difficult to collect enough water for household needs.Residents have also alleged that pipeline problems, ageing infrastructure and irregular supply have further aggravated the situation.As drinking water is a basic necessity, residents of Dharmanagar have demanded an early and permanent solution to the problem. They have called upon the government, concerned elected representatives and the Dharmanagar Municipal Council to work together to identify the affected areas and restore normal water supply at the earliest.Residents have also demanded the immediate repair of areas where there are technical faults in the pipelines or water-supply system.

They said that ageing and weak water-supply infrastructure should be upgraded, new pipelines should be installed wherever necessary, and an effective plan should be adopted to ensure regular water supply.Some residents said that schoolchildren, elderly people and working individuals are also facing difficulties due to the water crisis.

According to them, the additional time spent collecting water every day is disrupting normal life.Considering the seriousness of the situation, residents have also called on the concerned authorities to conduct area-wise inspections to identify the causes of the problem and arrange emergency alternative water supplies where necessary. At the same time, they have urged the authorities to formulate a long-term water-supply plan to prevent similar problems from recurring in the future.The people of Dharmanagar hope that the concerned government departments, elected representatives and the Municipal Council will take the issue seriously and initiate effective measures to ensure that every household in the town receives a regular, adequate and safe supply of drinking water.
