Agartala, 9th of January 2024 : BSF in its continuous efforts to curb the trans-border smuggling in Tripura State, on the intervening night of 08-09 Jan 2024 succeeded in seizure of 7,800 Yaba tablets worth Rs. 39,00,000/-. In addition to Yaba, also rescued 06 Cattle and seized 620 Kgs sugar and other contraband items having combined seizure value Rs. 50,74,070/-.
BSF troops in a joint ops with Custom Agaratala and Sonamura carried out search in a suspected house located in village Kulubari (Kajitila) under PS-Sonamura, Dist- Sipahijal (Tripra) and seized 39 packets containing 7,800 Yaba tablets worth Rs. 39,00,000/- and apprehended one suspect.
Apprehension of suspect with Yaba tablets is certainly a jolt to drug syndicate involved in trans-border smuggling. Public awareness and support is required to maintain the society ‘Drug free‘.
