Agartala, Tripura, 5th December, 2025 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station on Friday (5th December, 2025).
RPF & GRP, arrested one (1) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized a total of 08.360 Kg dry cannabis (Ganja). He wanted to take it to other state by train using Agartala railway station.
According to sources, GRP & RPF of Agartala at about 7 PM managed to catch one person namely Bijoy Chandra Das (33), S/O- Sri Laxman Chandra Das of Baghaichar, Kathalia,Jatrapur, Sepahijala, Tripura along with total 08.360 Kg purported to be contraband Ganja in their bags.
The value of this Ganja is Rs-1.5 Lakh approx in black market. Accordingly Railway Police arrested his from Agartala Railway station platform no-01 and seized the contraband Ganja. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2025GRP114, U/S-20(b)(ii)(B)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against him.
