Agartala, Tripura, 3rd of January, 2026 : Tripura Pradesh Congress observed the birth anniversary of social reformer Savitribai Jyotirao Phule at Congress Bhavan, Post office Chowmuhani, Agartala, Tripura on Saturday (3rd January, 2026).

Tripura Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha, and other activists paid floral tributes to Savitribai Jyotirao Phule on her birth anniversary. In today’s programme apart from the Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha, other congress leaders were present at the birth anniversary celebration event.

Savitribai Jyotirao Phule was a Indian social reformer, and widely considered India’s first female teacher, who, with her husband Jyotirao Phule, championed women’s education, fought caste discrimination, and advocated for the rights of marginalized communities, establishing India’s first girls’ school in 1848 and co-founding the Satyashodhak Samaj for social equality.
