Agartala, 28th of February 2024 : Journalists, Artists, Scholar remembered the contribution of the Government of Tripura and the people of Tripura in the great liberation war of Bangladesh. 13-member delegates of Journalists of Agartala Press Club, on 3 days visited Dhaka at the invitation of National Press Club of Bangladesh, Dhaka. A delegation led by Agartala Press Club President Jayanta Bhattacharjee. On the second day of the tour, the Agartala Press Club delegation visited Tungipara, and paid floral tributes. It is the birthplace of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founder of independent Bangladesh.
On the third day of the visit, a discussed on ‘Tripura in the Great War of Liberation ‘ was organized by the National Press Club. Freedom fighter journalist Harun Habib said that Tripura is the pilgrimage site of Bangladesh’s liberation war. Eminent historian, scholar, Muntasir Uddin Khan Mamun, Eminent Artist’s Hashem Khan, National Press Club President Farida Yasmin all recalled their role in the liberation war of Tripura and Agartala. Press Club President Jayanta Bhattacharjee, remembered Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with respect, he was the architect of the Bengali nation and created a solid foundation for the relationship between the two countries. National Press Club President Farida Yasmin and Secretary Shyamal Dutta invited Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura, Dr. Manik Saha to visit Bangladesh.
A delegation led by Agartala Press Club President Jayanta Bhattacharjee. Ramakanta Dey, Secretary of Agartala Press Club, Vice President Sajjad Ali, Ranjan Roy, Treasurer of Agartala Press Club, Abhishek Dey, Convener of Sports Sub Committee, Executive Member Abhishek Debbarma, Suman Deb Roy, Senior journalist Suprabhat Debnath and many others remained present were in this delegation.
