Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath Inaugurates Soil Testing Laboratory.

Khowai, 14th of March 2024 : With the initiative of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare department Government of Tripura Soil Testing Laboratory inauguration ceremony organized at Khowai on Thursday (14th March, 2024). In the presence of many dignitaries Hon’ble Power, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath inaugurated the Soil Testing Laboratory by cutting the ribbon.

Addressing at the inauguration ceremony of Soil Testing Laboratory the Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister said that what is lacking in a farmer’s land to produce more crops can be known by testing the soil. For this, soil laboratories have been started in Arundhauti Nagar, Gomati, Dhalai, North Tripura and today in Khowai districts. Besides, there are 3 mobile soil laboratories in the state. In the last 6 years, 1 lakh 73 thousand 876 farmers in the state have been given soil health cards after soil testing. Another 30,000 farmers will be given soil health cards in the next financial year. The Agriculture Minister also added that there are 11 thousand 179 hectares of cultivable land in Khowai Agricultural Division. There are 8 thousand 983 farmers. 9 crore 42 lakhs has already been paid in the accounts of 3 thousand 74 farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. He said that the farmers of Khowai district also have to take an important role to build a better Tripura in the future.

Allegation, office management insulted journalists by inviting them to government functions. Today was the auspicious inauguration ceremony of the district-based soil laboratory. Journalists were invited to cover the news on this occasion by the department. As usual, as per the schedule given, the journalists arrived at the event venue but the event started about one hour later. The minister started his speech by respecting all the common people, office workers and VIPs present in the meeting, he also gave due respect to the journalists and used the journalists as witnesses of many statements while giving his speech. But the office management from the beginning of the programme to the end, Journalists were not given honor and dignity.

Director of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Department Saradindu Das delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. The programme was presided over by Panchayat Samiti Vice Chairman Tapas Kanti Das. Member of Khowai Zilla Parishad Subrata Majumder, Joydeb Debbarma Sabhadhipati, Khowai Zilla Parisad and many other dignitaries were present in the programme.
