Khowai, Tripura, 17th of March, 2026 : The State Government and the Central Government are spending crores of rupees on road construction keeping in mind the needs of the people, aiming to improve connectivity. On the other hand, due to lack of proper planning and unscientific construction methods, public funds are being wasted. Residents of the area have raised allegations regarding such a road construction project.

A new road of about 400 meters is being constructed in the Koler Par area under Ward No. 1 of the Khowai Municipal Council. However, the road is being built without constructing any drainage system on either side.
Centering this issue, local residents have alleged that constructing the road without proper drainage will lead to its rapid deterioration within a short period of time. Both Government and private vehicles use this road, and even heavy vehicles of the Border Security Force frequently pass through it. The residents have demanded that since the road is being newly constructed, it is essential to build drainage systems on both sides of the road.
