Khowai, Tripura, 4th of August, 2024 : Allegedly, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters were injured in the attack by supporters three parties. As per the reports, due to sudden attack several BJP activists have been injured including BJP candidate. Two CPI(M) supporters were arrested. The incident took place on Saturday night at Padmabil village Ramchandraghat Assembly Constituency.
According to the information received, miscreants belonging to CPIM, Congress and TIPRA Motha first attacked the house of BJP supporter Dilip Shukla Baidya at 10 pm on Saturday. Dilip Shukla Baidya was seriously injured in their concerted attack. The miscreants then entered Shankardev’s house and organized an attack in which Shankardeb and several members of his family were injured. Then workers of the three parties jointly attacked the house of BJP nominated Panchayat candidate Subrata Deb. Subrata Deb was injured in their attack. After the incident, the injured were brought to Khowai District Hospital around 12:30 pm.
As per the latest information, injured persons are undergoing treatment at Khowai District Hospital. Meanwhile, Ramchandraghat mandal president Sanjib Debbarma rushed to the hospital on hearing the news. Interacting with media President of Ramchandraghat mandal Sanjib Debbarma said, in the upcoming three-tier Panchayat elections, the supporters of the three-party alliance have resorted to terror to intimidate the ruling party Supporters. They are attacking the houses of BJP activists and supporters. He demanded immediate arrest and strict punishment of those involved in the incident.
