Agartala, Tripura, 4th of August, 2024 : In the night intervening 03rd and 4th August 2024, alert troops of BSF Tripura, in various operations foiled attempts of smuggling through Indo- Bangladesh border and rescued 15 cattles.
In one such incident alert BSF troops detected movement of cattle smugglers along with cattles in the area of BOP Bogabil in Khowai District. On being challenged by BSF troops, trans border smugglers equipped with sharp edged weapon pelted stones on BSF troops.
To thwart the attempt of smuggling, adopting non lethal strategy, alert BSF troops fired 2 rounds from Pump Action Gun in prevention of trans border crime.
BSF has intensified operations and domination along the international border to prevent trans border crime.
