While the state government is spending crores of rupees to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the people, due to the negligence and lack of awareness of certain officials in the Health Department, ordinary citizens are being deprived of essential medical services. This has become a major point of complaint among the general public. The air-conditioned ambulance, allocated for Tulashikhar Primary Hospital and costing nearly crore rupees, has been lying unused and damaged at the Chebri Hospital in Khowai for over a year due to negligence and carelessness.
Journalists repeatedly tried to contact the health officer in charge of Tulashikhar Primary Hospital for a telephonic interview, but the officer refused to respond or participate. The residents of the Tulashikhar area are now questioning — who is responsible for the ambulance being wasted in this manner: the health officer of Tulashikhar Hospital or the state government? This remains the burning question among the local people.
