Ampi TMP Observed 118 Birth Anniversary Of M.B.B.K.M.B With Dignity.

Amarpur, Tripura, 20th of August 2026 :  With the initiative of Ampi block Motha organization 118th birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur was celebrated with due respect and dignity in Tuidu community hall, Ampi Nagar in Gomati Tripura on Wednesday (19th August, 2026).

On this auspicious occasion a large number of TMP leaders, workers as well as local villagers of the area have assembled here in the programme venue and took active participation in the observation. The programme was initiated with the floral tributes and lighting the candle by the 41 constituency MLA Pathan Lal Jamatia and MDC Kamal Kalai. The TTAADC hostel students have presented a soulful song in honour of the king. Addressing the present participants MDC Kamal Kalai has said, “Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur (1908-1947) was the visionary last ruling monarch of the Manikya Dynasty,celebrated globally as the architect of modern Tripura. He was born on August 19, 1908. His father was Maharaja Birendra Kishore Manikya and mother was queen Prabhabati Mahadevi. He had ascended the throne 1923 at a young age following his father’s death. He became the first ruler from Tripura to travel widely across Europe and America between 1931 and 1939 gaining global perspectives on governance. He had transformed Tripura through pioneering town. planning, progressive educational institutions, indigenous land rights, and vital infrastructure development before his untimely death at age 39. Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya was not just a king, visionary progressive and modern minded great ruler. He made historic contribution to education, infrastructure, administration, culture and the overall development of Tripura. His remarkable contribution in the field of education is Maharaja Bir Bikram College in Agartala and his foresight in developing modern transport and air connectivity is visible in Tripura’s development today.”

Amidst the other distinguished participants there were Ampi TMP block president Sanjay Jamatia, YTF president Debarshi Jamatia, social activist Vinkar Chakraborty, organizing secretary Deb Sadhan Jamatia and many others remained present in the programme.
