Bengaluru, 10th of March, 2025 : The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru, celebrated International Women’s Day with a special event on campus. A Saree Walkathon was organized for the women staff, marking the occasion with enthusiasm and spirit.

The event began at 8:20 AM with a warm-up session led by final-year female students. After the 10-minute warm-up, the Walkathon was flagged off, with a total of 88 participants walking five rounds around the campus. All participants were given white caps featuring the Walkathon logo as part of the event. After completing the Walkathon, the participants gathered at Sudhamani Hall for a brief stretching session.
Ms. Himabindu from ACIP, Dr. Vineetha of CSE, and Ms. Latha Rao, the girls’ hostel warden, claimed the first, second, and third positions in the Walkathon, respectively.
A sumptuous breakfast was arranged by the management for all the women employees in celebration. Additionally, as a token of appreciation, 78 blue-collar women employees were gifted sarees, contributed by the staff at Amrita as part of a collective effort.
The event was a wonderful display of solidarity and respect for the women of Amrita, promoting wellness and gratitude for their invaluable contributions.
