Dharmanagar, Tripura, 5th of October, 2026 : A convention was held in Dharmanagar with the aim of making the state-level workers’ rally, scheduled to be held in Agartala on November 14, a success. The rally is being organised with demands including the repeal of the labour codes and other anti-worker laws, regularisation of irregular employees, job security for all scheme workers including Anganwadi workers and helpers, and increased pension and other benefits.The convention was held on Sunday (4th October, 2026) at 12 noon at the CPI(M) Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Office. Leaders and representatives of CITU and various mass organisations were present at the meeting. The convention was presided over by Niranjan Debnath.

Speakers at the convention included CITU Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Secretary Zahurul Haque, All India Kisan Sabha State Committee member Ratan Roy, Tripura Khet Mazdoor Union State Committee member Durgesh Roy, and Samiran Das representing the Tripura Scheduled Caste Coordination Committee.The speakers highlighted various demands and problems faced by working people and appealed to everyone to make the workers’ rally in Agartala on November 14 a success. Representatives of the various mass organisations present at the convention also called upon their respective organisations to ensure large-scale participation in the rally.CITU State Committee Vice-President Amitabha Dutta addressed the convention as the chief speaker. He stressed the importance of a united movement in the interests of working people and called upon everyone to make the programmes planned for the coming days successful.
