Agartala, 13th of July, 2024 : On 12.07.2024, on specific information that 03 Bangladeshi were present ahead of fence in area of BOP New Nidiya for crossing over to the Indian side , a special patrol was sent in the suspected area. At about 1730 hrs on seeing the patrolling party, Bangladeshi nationals hiding in the jungle started running away towards Bangladesh village -Nawapur . The patrolling party chased the Bangladeshi illegal immigrants and managed to apprehend 01 Bangladeshi National. Details of the Bangladeshi national is as under : Robiul Islam, 35 yrs ,S/o Md Mozibur Sheikh, Vill- Broshonnassi, City – Khulna Distt- Bagerhat (Bangladesh). Questioning by BSF is in progress.
BSF has stepped up its drive against such illegal Bangladeshi immigrants and all field formations are actively breaking down the nexus of touts in the bordering areas.
