Agartala, 10th of January 2024 : The State has 125 Vidyajyoti Schools at present. There are 30 schools in West Tripura district, 11 in Unakoti district, 16 in Gomati district, 12 in South Tripura district, 15 in North Tripura district, 16 in Sepahijala district, 12 in Khowai district and 13 in Dhalai district. Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha gave this information in a reply to a question of MLA Kishore Barman and MLA Jitendra Chowdhury during the question and answer session in the Legislative Assembly 4th day on Wednesday (10th January, 2024). The Chief Minister said the School Education Department has no separate guidelines for the appointment of subject teachers and other staff in Vidyajyoti School. But the Education Department has started recruitment for the posts of Special Educator, Teacher of Computer Science in all these CBSE approved schools and the recruitment process for Librarian and Digital Education Teacher start will soon. Vidyajyoti school authorities has appointed some contractual staff.
The Chief Minister also added that building the school infrastructure is an ongoing process. The school education department does the work of building the infrastructure as per the need. However, internet services, libraries, audio visual classrooms, closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras, purify waters system etc. are being added in various Vidyajyoti schools along with other infrastructure.
