Dharmanagar, Tripura, 26th of January, 2026 : Following its annual tradition, the Algapur Aikyadweep Sangha under Dharmanagar subdivision is set to organize the Bijoy Smriti Cricket Tournament 2026. The organizers stated that the main objective of the tournament is to keep the younger generation away from substance abuse and to promote a healthy and positive society through sports.The tournament will be held at the Algapur School Ground. During a press conference organized in connection with the event, it was informed that the tournament will be conducted in a league format.
Attractive prizes have been announced, with the champion team receiving an electric scooter, while the runner-up team will be awarded cash prizes along with other rewards. The entry fee for each participating team has been fixed at ₹2,500. The organizers further announced that after the completion of the cricket tournament, a football tournament will also be organized in the near future.Present at the press conference were Tournament Committee Convenor Ashok Nandi, Treasurer Kaushik Chowdhury, along with other members of Algapur Aikyadweep Sangha. Notably, the organization has been consistently involved in various social and sports-related activities, contributing actively to community development.
