Khowai, Tripura, 25th of September, 2024 : With the initiative of Information and Cultural Affairs Department Khowai celebrated Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s birth anniversary at Subhashpark, Khowai on Wednesday (25th September, 2024).
In the presence of many dignitaries social activist Subrata Majumder inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp. Floral tributes were offered by social activist Subrata Majumder and other dignitaries. Senior Information Officer of ICA department, Khowai sub-division office Dulal Debbarma delivered the welcome speech on the occasion.
Addressing the programme Chief guest Samir Kumar Das said, this great man was born in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh one hundred and eight years ago, he lost his parents in his childhood but established himself through hard struggle, joined himself in the work of the society. He was also the president of Jan Sangh, which was the organization before the Bharatiya Janata Party. He said that unity of humanity is the main philosophy of the Bharatiya Janata Party. In today’s troubled world, when people are facing a crisis of civilization, when ideals and values are about to be lost, unity of humanity should be.
On this auspicious occasion Artists performed their traditional cultural programs to beautify the ceremony. Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Social activist Sanjib Debbarma, Chairman of Khowai Municipal Council Debasish Nath Sharma, Madabh Chakraborty, Pradip Debbarma, Jarna Biswas and many others remained present in the program.
