Agartala, Tripura, 25th of September, 2024 : With the initiative of Regional Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology celebrated World Pharmacists Day 2024 at RIPSAT campus, Agartala on Wednesday (25th September, 2024). RIPSAT also organized the inauguration ceremony of the Newly Constructed Building of Girls Hostel.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has inaugurated the Newly Constructed Building Of Girls Hostel in the presence of many dignitaries, on the occasion of World Pharmacists Day 2024 at Regional Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology premises.
On this auspicious occasion addressing the event Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha emphasized the critical role pharmacists play as a bridge between doctors and patients, ensuring quality healthcare services. He praised RIPSAT as a premier institution in the state, attracting students from across the Northeastern region, fostering unity in diversity. Highlighting the government’s commitment to healthcare, the CM assured that steps were being taken to further develop the institution, including appointing additional faculty. CM also said that previously students have to go to other states for completing various courses on pharmacy but now they can easily avail courses like B- Pharma, D-Pharma, M-Pharma in the state only.
In the event, the secretary of the health department, Kiran Gitte, said that pharmacists have an important role in providing health services. They must be ready to face new challenges in the health sector in the coming days. In the event, the acting Principal of RIPSAT, Prof. (Dr.) Rishiraj Chhetri said that every year the World Pharmacists Day is celebrated on September 25. This year’s World Pharmacists Day theme is “Pharmacists: Meeting Global Health Needs”.
On the occasion, RIPSAT’s Principal handed over a cheque of Rs 25,001 to the Chief Minister as a donation to the CM Relief fund.
Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Director of Medical Education Dr. Haraprasad Sharma, Director of Tripura Health Services, Sanjib Debbarma and Additional Secretary of Health Department Rajeev Dutta. On this auspicious occasion of the World Pharmacists Day 2024 and inauguration of Newly Constructed Building Of Girls Hostel a large number of students, teachers, dignitaries have assembled in the programme venue and celebrated the event with great enthusiasm and excitement. Students presented attractive cultural programmes like music, dance on the colourful celebration ceremony.
