Birth Anniversary Of Kazi Nazrul Islam Celebrated At Nazrul Kalakshetra.

With the initiative of Information & Cultural Affairs Department Government of Tripura celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Kazi Nazrul Islam at Nazrul Kalakshetra on Friday (26th May, 2023). Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha along with other guests paid homage their respects the statue of the Kazi Nazrul Islam at the Nazrul Kalakshetra.

“Kazi Nazrul Islam was a poet, singer, philosopher and patriot. In subjugated India, he worked as a bridge between Hindu and Muslim people. A rebel poet composed music and devotional songs despite being a member of the Muslim community. Through his writings, the Bengali society of that time was inspired by patriotism and involved itself in the freedom movement against the British”, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said at the birth anniversary celebration ceremony of Kazi Nazrul Islam. The Chief Minister also added that Kazi Nazrul Islam’s birthday is celebrated across the state every year to inculcate the new generation with the thoughts, spirit, and patriotism of Kazi Nazrul Islam.

Dr. P. K. Chakraborty, Secretary ICA, Department delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. Director of Information & Cultural Affairs Department Bimbisar Bhattacharjee, Child Rights Protection Commission Chairman Jayanti Debbarma, Corporator Manimukta Bhattacharjee, Corporator Sukhamoy Saha and other dignitaries were present in the ceremony.
