Agartala, 7th of June, 2024 : In a significant joint operation,on 7th June 2024 , Border Security Force (BSF) and Tripura Police seized a huge quantity of yaba tablets and one pistol along with Magazine & ammunition from a house in the village of Motinagar located close to International Border in the area of BOP Rayermura, 42 Bn BSF, under the jurisdiction of PS Amtali, West Tripura District.
Taking lead from the seizure of narcotics substance i.e Yaba tablets on 4th June 2024 in the AOR of BOP Mohanpur, 42 Bn BSF and on specific intelligence input provided by BSF, a joint operation was successfully conducted on June 7, 2024. BSF and Police laid a cordon around the target area i.e the house of Abu Salam Bhuiya resident of Indian village Motinagar and a joint search operation was carried out in the early hours in which 40,000 tablets of Yaba Tablets packed in 04 pkts valued at approximately Rs 02 crores, one country-made pistol (7.65 mm) with one magazine and five live rounds were recovered and seized from the house of Abu Salam Bhuiya . The house owner has been apprehended and handed over to Amtali Police Station along with seized items.
The successful joint operation by the BSF and Tripura Police demonstrates their commitment to combat the menace illegal drug trafficking in the border state of Tripura.
