BSF Investiture Ceremony-2023 Celebrated At Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, New Delhi  To Decorate Brave And Outstanding Officers & Men Of The Force.

BSF investiture ceremony for awarding “Kirti Chakra”, UN Dag Hammarskjöld Medal and Asadharan Aasuchna Kushalta Padak was organized at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, Pragati Vihar, New Delhi today.  Shri Nitin Agrawal, IPS, DG BSF awarded the medals to Next of Kin (NOK) of Martyred Seema Praharis, outstanding serving officers and men in the presence of DsG of other CAPFs, senior BSF officers, distinguished guests, family members and media personnel.

2.SI (Late) Paotinsat Guite of 59 Bn BSF was conferred with Kirti Chakra posthumously for his conspicuous bravery during an operation at LoC in the Rajouri area on 01 December 2020. Kirti Chakra was received by his Next of Kin, Smt Hoineilhing Guite.

3.UN Dag Hammarskjöld Medals were handed over to the NoKs of Head Constable Sanwala Ram Vishnoi and Head Constable Shishupal Singh, who made the supreme sacrifice while on UN Peace Keeping mission in Beni, Congo on 25 July 2022. The UN Dag Hammarskjöld Medal is a posthumous award to members of peacekeeping operations who lost their lives during service with a peacekeeping operation under the operational control and authority of the United Nations.
