Agartala, Tripura, 27th of August, 2026 : The SPANDAN League – Tripura State-Level Volleyball Tournament 2026 is being organised by 169 Battalion BSF, Bagma, from 26 to 29 August 2026 at BSF Camp, Bagma, Udaipur, as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations commemorating 60 Glorious Years of BSF.
The tournament was inaugurated on 26 August 2026 by Shri Gajraj Yadav, DIG, SHQ Udaipur, in the presence of Shri Ajay Kumar, Comdt, 169 BN BSF, other officers and officials of BSF, school students and members of the local community. The inaugural ceremony featured an impressive March Past by the participating teams, along with a performance by the BSF Brass Band.
A total of eight district teams are participating in the tournament. On Day 1, exciting matches were witnessed, with Sipahijala defeating Dhalai 2–1, West Tripura defeating Unakoti 2–0, and Khowai defeating South Tripura 2–1.
Organised under the theme “SPANDAN – Sports for Peace and Development Across the Nation,” the tournament aims to promote sporting excellence, youth participation, discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship, while strengthening goodwill and community engagement.
The tournament will culminate with the Grand Final and Closing Ceremony on 29 August 2026, when the winning team will be presented with the prestigious SPANDAN Championship Trophy.
