In the series of Special Operations to counter the trans-border narcotics smuggling activities in State of Tripura, BSF has succeeded in seizing 27 Gms Brown Sugar, 64 Kgs Ganja&600 Nos Yaba Tablets along with other contraband items having combined value of Rs.20.25 Lakhs on intervening night of 04/05 July 2021.
In one such operation, on 04th July 2021, the BSF troops of 20 Bn BSF Panisagar along with local Police conducted a special joint operation and intercepted one Motorcycle rider. During thorough search, ‘Brown Sugar’ – 27 Gms worth Rs. 13,50,000/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, an FIR has been lodged has been lodged PS- Kailashahar, Sub Division- Kailashahar, Distt- Unakoti, Tripura.
In another such special operation, the BSF troops of BOP Kamalsagar, 74 Bn BSF and local Police party of PS- Madhupur carried out search operation and recovered “60 Kgs Ganja” worth Rs. 3,00,000/-in general area of Village- 26 Card (Devipur), Sub-Division- Bishalgarh, Distt- Sepahijala, Tripura.
In one more operation in the intervening night of 04/05 July 2021, the BSF troops of BOP Srimantapur, 133 Bn BSF conducted search &successfully seized“600 Nos Yaba Tablets along with 04 Kgs Ganja Dust” having market value of Rs. 3,20,000/-in the Indo-Bangladesh Border area under PS- Sonamura, Sub-Division- Sonamura, Distt- Sepahijala.
The vigilant troops of BSF Tripura are effectively manning the International Border and regularly seizing various contraband items on regular basis.
