Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha cut the Christmas cake along with Hon’ble Speaker Ratan Chakraborty and other dignitaries at Shantir Rani Catholic Church, Mariam Nagar, Khayerpur, Agartala on Sunday (25th December, 2022).
“Humanity is the greatest religion of man. There is no religion like blood and water also has no religion. The patient who comes to the doctor has no religion likewise people may have different ideologies but God is one. Humanity is the main religion of man” Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said at Christmas celebration programme at Mariam Nagar Church, Khayerpur. The Chief Minister also said this festival of Christmas is not limited only to Christians People of all religions organize this festival together.
Hon’ble Speaker Ratan Chakraborty called upon the everyone’s cooperation for the completion of the Christmas festival and fair in Mariam Nagar. He called upon the youth to come forward to complete the festival peacefully with discipline. He also said, this festival of Christmas is not only for Christians, today this festival has become a gathering of all religions.
West Tripura District DM Debapriya Bardhan and other dignitaries were present at the programme. Mariam Nagar Church Principal Father Lins Baby delivered the welcome speech at Christmas celebration programme. Social activist Carol D’Souza delivered the vote of thanks.
