CBC Organises Two-Day ICOP At Tripura University On Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Census 2027 And Public Welfare.

Agartala, Tripura, 25th of August, 2026 : The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Field Office, Agartala, under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, organized a Two-Day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) at Tripura University, West Tripura, on 24 August 2026.

Prof. Samir Kumar Sil, Registrar, Tripura University, inaugurated the exhibition as the Chief Guest. Among the dignitaries present were- Shri Subhash Dutta, ADM & Collector (PP), Sepahijala; Prof. Indraneel Bhowmik, Proctor, Tripura University; and Dr. Vanlalmuana Darlong, Deputy Registrar, Tripura University.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Samir Kumar Sil appreciated the initiative of the Central Bureau of Communication and stated that Tripura University welcomes such awareness programmes for the benefit of students. Emphasizing the importance of a drug-free campus, he called upon students to maintain zero tolerance towards drug abuse and focus on their studies to achieve their goals. He also encouraged the students with the message that “where there is a will, there is always a way.”

Speaking as the Guest of Honour, Shri Subhash Dutta highlighted the significance of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Census 2027, and 12 Years of Trust, Development and Public Welfare. He urged the students to remain aware of the harmful effects of drug abuse and contribute towards building a healthy and responsible society. Prof. Indraneel Bhowmik also appealed to the students to stay away from drugs and concentrate on their education and future goals.

The second session featured an exhibition based on the three themes- Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Census 2027, and 12 Years of Trust, Development and Public Welfare. Dr. Sindhu Poudyal, Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy, and Dr. Shouvik Bhattacharya, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Tripura University, elaborated on the themes and interacted with the students. An open quiz competition was also organized and prizes were awarded to all the competition winners.

The third session featured a cultural programme presented by Saptarshi Kala Kendra, a Private Registered Troupe from Karimganj, Assam. Students of Tripura University also presented songs during the programme.

Research scholars and students from the Departments of Journalism and Mass Communication, Philosophy, Political Science, History, Sanskrit, Linguistics & Tribal Languages, Physical Education, and Liberal Arts actively participated in the Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme.
