Agartala, Tripura, 13th of September, 2026 : With the initiative of Border Security Force organized Voluntary Blood Donation Camp organized in collaboration with the Rotary Club at Salbagan, Agartala, Tripura on Sunday (13th September, 2026).
Addressing at the Voluntary Blood Donation Camp Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that BSF personnel are a shining example of the country’s commitment to border security and humanitarian service. To address various issues related to the security of the India-Bangladesh border and to strengthen coordination, state-level and district-level coordination committees will be formed. The present State Government is a government of the people, committed to resolving various issues and addressing matters concerning public welfare. The state government is determined to resolve all issues related to the security of the state and the interests of its people.
“At present, the state’s borders are being secured with the support of the three-tier security forces comprising the BSF, Tripura State Rifles (TSR) and state police. BSF personnel have made the most significant contribution to securing the international border and are therefore regarded as the front-runners in border security. The State Government is also extending all possible cooperation to ensure the security of the border fencing and BSF camps located in border areas”, Chief Minister said.
Highlighting on the occasion, Chief Minister remarked that apart from safeguarding the borders, the BSF has also been playing an important role in various social service initiatives, including blood donation programmes. He said that the people of the country and the state are able to live safely and peacefully because BSF personnel are deployed to protect the borders. He said that blood donation has now emerged as a social movement in the State. According to him, the more people dedicate themselves to social service, the more the society will benefit and become a better place. He added that the state government is encouraging people not only to donate blood but also to contribute to eye and organ donation. The state is also making significant progress in the field of organ donation.
Appreciating the blood donation camp, the Chief Minister said that the initiative by the BSF personnel would send a positive message to society. He also appealed to the youth to come forward in greater numbers and participate in blood donation drives as part of their service to humanity.
Addressing the gathering BSF Tripura Frontier IG Prinsi Rani said that a blood donation camp is not merely an event but an example of humanity and compassion. She said that the BSF Tripura Frontier has donated 1,000 units of blood so far.
Rotary Club President Rajib Banik also addressed the gathering. The welcome address was delivered by Rita Bhasnet Debbarma, Secretary of the Rotary Club. Dr. Suchandra De, DIG of the Health Department of BSF Tripura Frontier, also spoke on the occasion.
During the programme, BSF Tripura Frontier IG Prinsi Rani honoured Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha by presenting him with a memento.
In addition, Chief Minister Dr.Manik Saha today inaugurated a blood donation camp organised to mark the 74th foundation day of Unnayan Sangha at North Badarghat. He also inaugurated a voluntary blood donation camp at IGM Hospital. Chief Minister also attended a blood donation camp at IGM Hospital.
At the Unnayan Sangha blood donation camp, the Chief Minister felicitated ASHA workers and sanitation workers from Wards No. 39 and 40 of the Agartala Municipal Corporation and praised their dedicated service.
Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation and MLA Dipak Majumder, Ward No. 39 Corporator Alok Dey, Ward No. 40 Corporator Sampa Sarkar, South Zone Chairman Abhijit Mallick, Social activst Shyamal De, many other distinguished dignitaries were present in the event. The welcome address was delivered by Unnayan Sangha Secretary Dr. Partha Sarkar.
