Guwahati, Assam, 10th of October, 2026 : A new chapter in air connectivity between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh began with the launch of IndiGo’s first service from Guwahati Airport to Hollongi, providing an important air link to Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh.
Passengers were welcomed with the traditional Gamosa, bringing a touch of Assam to the inaugural journey at Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport (LGBIA), Guwahati, Assam on Saturday (10th October, 2026), reflecting Assam’s rich cultural heritage and adding a warm, festive touch to the inaugural journey.
The inaugural service is expected to make travel more convenient for passengers travelling between Guwahati and the Itanagar region, strengthening connectivity between the two neighbouring northeastern states.

The new air connection is expected to benefit tourists, business travellers and local residents while supporting tourism and economic activities in Arunachal Pradesh. It also represents another step towards improving regional connectivity across the Northeast.
