Agartala, Tripura, 8th of October, 2026 : The State Government has been able to eliminate the concerns of the students and guardians alike by enhancing opportunities in the field of medical education within the state at minimum cost. Now the students have better opportunities to study MBBS and Dental course in the state. Today with the establishment of Homeopathic College that field has expanded even further. Ayurvedic Hospital is also going to open very soon. Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha made these remarks on Wednesday (7th October, 2026) after inaugurating the Tripura Government Homeopathic Medical College and Netaji Subhash Homeopathic Hospital at Renters Colony, Agartala.
Addressing at the event the Chief Minister said, in the past the children of the state had limited facility to study medical; they had to go outside the state for that spending a lot of money. Today with the coming of different medical colleges in the state, they can easily study MBBS, Dental, Nursing, BHMS etc. courses. In the coming days pursuing Ayurvedic medical course will also be facilitated. The state government wants to earn faith and trust of the people through its action, because this government believes in action. The state government is implementing what it is promising to the people.

The Chief Minister said that apart from government medical colleges, more medical colleges will come up under private initiative. The Shija Group will establish one advanced medical college and hospital in the state by investing around Rs. 700 crore. The establishment of medical colleges in different places of the state is also opening up avenues of better life for the local people. In fact the government has opened up new avenues of healthcare through newly established health infrastructure. The Chief Minister said, the state government, following the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is implementing what it is promising for the welfare of people. In the coming days a medical college will also be established in Dhalai district. Tripura has now moved ahead a lot in different fields including healthcare.
The Chief Minister emphasized that for the interest of development, peace and harmony must be maintained in the state. It is only because of the prevailing peaceful and healthy law and order situation in the state that private investors are coming ahead to invest Rs. 1.32 lakh crore. He said the students of the first batch of this Homeopathic College and the first faculty members of this college will have something to be proud of. Nowadays modern technology is being used in Homeopathy as well. He said, to develop and earn good experience in medical field, one must take challenges.

Hon’ble Deputy Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Manika Das Datta graced the occasion as the special guest. Guest of honour and secretary of the health and family welfare department Kiran Gitte said, healthcare infrastructure of the state has improved a lot. And this positive change has come because of the visionary thinking of the Chief Minister.
Among other dignitaries were present AMC Commissioner Saju Vaheed A., director of health services Dr. Debashree Debbarma, director of Tripura Medical Education Dr. H.P. Sharma, director of family welfare and preventive medicine Dr. Anjan Das. Welcome address was delivered by the principal of Tripura Government Homeopathic Medical College and Netaji Subhash Homeopathic Hospital Dr. Abhijit Chattopadhyay. All the guests including Chief Minister paid floral tribute to the portrait of the inventor of Homeopathic treatment Samuel Hahnemann.
