Civil Defence Conducts Air Raid And Blackout Mock Drill In Dharmanagar.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 4th of June 2026 : A significant mock exercise titled “Air Raid and Blackout Mock Exercise–2026” was conducted on Thursday in Dharmanagar, North Tripura, under the initiative of the Civil Defence Department. Organized under the supervision of the Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Administration, the primary objective of the drill was to assess the preparedness, coordination, and rapid response capabilities of both the administration and the public in the event of a potential emergency.

The exercise commenced at 4:00 PM at the premises of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office in Dharmanagar. From 4:00 PM to 4:02 PM, sirens were sounded to simulate an air raid warning. Following the alert, various emergency response activities, including rescue operations, evacuation of injured persons, and disaster management procedures, were demonstrated as part of the drill.As part of the exercise, a blackout was enforced from 5:30 PM to 5:40 PM.

During this period, lights were switched off in designated areas to practice emergency protocols and public response during a blackout situation. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Collector and Magistrate Subarna Murasing stated that the exercise was a routine mock drill conducted periodically to ensure that the administration and concerned agencies remain prepared to deal with any emergency situation effectively. Representatives from the Fire and Emergency Services Department, Power Department, Health Department, and several other government agencies participated in the drill. According to the administration, such exercises play a vital role in disaster preparedness, public awareness, and ensuring a swift and effective response during emergencies.
