Ampi, 22nd of March 2024 : The former CPIM MDC Bhakta Kalai of Ampi Nagar has been expired today in GB hospital. As per the report, he was in sickness for last some days. To notice his physical situation critical his family members have taken him to GB hospital on last Tuesday and admitted him in the hospital. Due to worsen physical situation he has been shifted to ICO cell but on duty doctors failed to save this prominent communist leader. His family members said that his death reason was brain stroke. He was 75 years old.
Sources said, Bhakta Kalai was better patronizer of communist organization and as a MDC he had served the poor people of Ampi Nagar with selflessness. After bringing his dead body home many active communist leaders of Ampi Nagar 41 constituency have gathered and paid their last homage to him. One procession has been organized on Teliamura-Amarpur road at Ampi Nagar. He has left his two sons and two daughters. As a party Gomati district member and state cooperative bank director he had provided good social service to people of the society. A melancholic sense has been prevailed over death of this prominent social activist.
Amidst the communist leaders there were sub divisional secretary Parimal Debnath, former block secretary Sankar Chakraborty, former Ampi block CPIM MLA Daniel Jamatia, party activist Parikshit Kalai and many others remained present in the procession.
