Dharmanagar, Tripura, 27th of May 2026 : The Kadamtala Regional Committee of CPI(M) submitted a deputation at Kadamtala Rural Hospital demanding solutions to various issues related to healthcare services on Tuesday (26th May, 2026) at around 11 AM. The deputation programme was organized on the basis of a four-point charter of demands. The deputation was received by the hospital’s Officer-in-Charge, Dr. Sandeep Deb.

During the discussion, representatives highlighted several ongoing problems within the hospital. It was pointed out that the hospital has been facing an acute shortage of healthcare workers at different levels for a long time. The delegation also alleged that although an X-ray machine had been installed at the hospital nearly one and a half years ago, services could not be started due to the absence of a technician, depriving local residents of essential diagnostic facilities.
Another major issue raised was the delay in opening the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra within the hospital premises. According to the delegation, despite the centre being allotted nearly two years ago, it has not yet become operational. Local residents alleged that unknown obstacles are preventing the opening of the centre, depriving common people of access to affordable medicines. The leaders present in the deputation demanded immediate steps to resolve the issues. Dr. Sandeep Deb reportedly assured the delegation that the matters would be taken seriously and necessary initiatives would be taken.
During the deputation Haripada Goswami, Jaharul Haque, Nagendranath, Makhan Nath, Sanjay Paul, Kadamtala Regional Committee Secretary Animesh Nath, Pritish Nath, MLA Islam Uddin, and other party leaders were present.
