Agartala, Tripura, 28th of June, 2025 : With the initiative of Bengali language daily newspaper Dainik Sambad Trust Bhupendra Chandra Datta Bhowmik Merit Cum- Award-2025 programme has been organized at Muktadhara Auditorium, Agartala, Tripura on Saturday (28th June, 2025). In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
Addressing at the event Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that the State Government is working to develop education from Medical Education to Technical Education to build a better future for the students of the State. In this regard, the Government has given importance to providing quality education as well as developing educational infrastructure. As a result, the children of the State are now able to pursue higher education in the State.
Highlighting on the event, the Chief Minister remarked that any award is a recognition of the outstanding struggle and indomitable willpower of the students. Along with studies, the students must also develop an attitude of coming forward for the welfare of the people. Only then will the birth of a human being be meaningful, the Chief Minister expressed the opinion. The Chief Minister said that the current Central and State Governments are working on various plans to spread quality education. In order to take education to the marginalized level of the society, importance has been given to infrastructural development. The Prime Minister has declared the current period of the country as Amritkal. Therefore, various plans are being taken to take the country forward through education by utilizing this time.
The Chief Minister also added that the pioneer of journalism, Bhupendra Chandra Datta Bhowmik, will be remembered for delivering news to the readers with a sense of professionalism along with his sense of responsibility. He was a fearless and talented journalist. He used to highlight various problems of the society through his writings. Despite various adversities, he made efforts to take the Bengali language daily newspaper Dainik Sambad forward.
Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Sanjay Pal, Chairman of Dainik Sambad Trust, Swami Shubhakarananda Maharaj, Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission, Viveknagar, Agartala, Tripura, Dr. Ratan Kumar Saha, Vice-Chancellor of Techno India University, Tripura, Journalists, Editor of Print, Electronic and Web media and many other dignitaries were present at the event. At the event, the Chief Minister and present guests awards were given to 35 meritorious and economically disadvantaged students. The Chief Minister and the guests of the event presented them with certificates, mementos and cash checks.
