Deeksharambh 2026–27 Concludes, Empowering Freshmen For A Confident Start To College Life.

Lembucherra, Tripura, 24th of September 2026 : The Deeksharambh (Induction-cum-Foundation Course) 2026–27 for newly admitted B.F.Sc. first-year students of the College of Fisheries, Central Agricultural University (Imphal), Lembucherra, concluded today after a two-week programme conducted from 7 to 22 September 2026. The programme was designed to facilitate students’ transition into college life through academic orientation, professional exposure, social interaction and experiential learning.

The College of Fisheries is a constituent college of CAU, Imphal, offering undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in fisheries science. Developed around the four pillars of Socializing, Associating, Acclimatizing and Experiencing, the module comprised 43 sessions, 16 expert/resource persons and 6 exposure visits, covering academic, career, skill-development, cultural and experiential activities. Students particularly appreciated the Ice-breaking sessions, “Know Your Community”, “Directly from/to Dean”, expert and alumni interactions, and exposure visits to reputed institutions including NIT Agartala, ICAR, College of Agriculture, Government Fish Seed/Fish Farms and other institutional facilities. Their feedback reflected appreciation for the relevance, diversity and effective implementation of the programme, as well as the coordinated efforts of the team led by Dr. Amitava Ghosh, Coordinator, along with the Co-Coordinators, Dr. Hoilenting & Mr. Abhay Singh.

The official video teaser of Deeksharambh 2026–27 was also released during the valedictory programme, showcasing the major activities and experiences of the students. Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Mrs. Tanushri Bhattacharya, GM/OIC, NABARD–Tripura, highlighted the importance of the fisheries sector in nutritional security and employment generation. Prof. Arun B. Patel, Dean, expressed his contentment over the smooth and successful organization of the programme, appreciated the entire coordination team and acknowledged the support and guidance of Dr. Anupam Mishra, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, CAU (Imphal).
