Agartala, Tripura, 24th of September, 2026 : Techno India University, Tripura (TIUT) reaffirmed its commitment towards developing advanced infrastructure for higher education in the State during its freshers’ welcome programme ‘Fiesta 2026’, held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, Agartala, on Wednesday.
Addressing the programme as the Special Guest, Shri Ram Prasad Paul, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, appreciated the role of Techno India in promoting higher education in the State. He emphasised the importance of character building among students along with academic pursuits and also praised the Techno Knowledge Campus. Shri Paul addressed the gathering through a video conference from London.
Shri Satyam Roychowdhury, Hon’ble Chancellor of TIUT, stated that the Techno India family is committed to creating international-standard higher education infrastructure in Tripura. He also assured that efforts would continue to ensure that students of the State have access to quality education opportunities.
Although Shri Ratan Lal Nath, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture and Power, and Shri Kishore Barman, Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education, were scheduled to attend the programme, they could not be present due to their official engagements. However, they conveyed their best wishes for the success of Fiesta 2026.
Among those present on the occasion were Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Kumar Saha, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, TIUT; Mr. Kaushik Sarkar, Director, Techno India Group; Mr. Tirtharaj Sen, Principal, Women’s Polytechnic, and other dignitaries.
The students of the University presented an engaging cultural programme as part of the Fiesta 2026 celebrations.
