Delegation Of DYFI-TYF & CITU Placed Deputation To General Manager Of N.F. Railway Division At Maligaon, Guwahati.

With the initiative of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) & Tribal Youth Federation (TYF), Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) Tripura branch deputation to General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway Division At Maligaon, Guwahati on Tuesday (27th June, 2023). The DYFI-TYF & CITU has given deputation over 15 points of demands. As per the report, the demands are-

1. In Agartala-Dharmanagar Route, at least two pairs of trains should be introduced from both sides. Also, number of compartments should be increased to ease out pressure of passengers’ daily rush.
2. In Dharmanagar-Silchar route, train should be introduced daily from both sides.
3. In Dharmanagar-Subroom Route a daily new train should be introduced, and in Agartala-Subroom route the number of trains and the number of coaches in each train should be increased to meet the heavy rush of passengers.
4. Rajdhani Express should be re-introduced bi-weekly. Jana Shatabdi Express between Agartala-Jiribam should run everyday instead of three days a week.
5. Daily Shatabdi/Bande Bharat Express should be introduced in Agartala-Guwahati Route.
6. Proposed Survey of alternate Dharmanagar-Kailashahar, Kamalpur-Khowai-Mohanpur-Agartala-Sonamura-Belonia rail line should be completed at the earliest and necessary steps for issuing financial sanction should be taken immediately.
7. Survey work of Dharmanagar-Kanchanpur rail line should be started immediately.
8. Work of Agartala-Akhaura-Dacca-Kolkata rail line (Duel-gauge) should be completed as early as possible.
9. Initiative should be taken to start rail line between Subroom and Chittagang and Belonia to Feni of Bangladesh.
10. To improve the passengers convenience old coaches unfit to use, should be replaced with new coaches.
11. Electrification of the rail line along with laying of double track from Lumding to Subroom should be done with priority.
12. A Rail Division should be established in Tripura. Also action for setting up of a recruitment centre in Tripura should be taken up.
13. Toilets and coaches of the trains should be cleaned regularly. Necessary action for cleanliness of the stations should be taken up. Sufficient drinking water should be provided inside the coaches as well as in the rail stations also.
14. With a view to create buffer stock of food-grain and petro products in the state Depot of appropriate size of IOC and FCI should be constructed.
15. Escalator service should be introduced in every platforms of Agartala rail station as well as other big stations to improve passengers’ convenience.

Former MP Shankar Prasad Dutta, Prabhat Chaudhary, Sailendra Chandra Nath along with DYFI-TYF leaders and many others remained present during the deputation.
