Agartala, 27th of January, 2024 : Delegation of Tripura Assembly of Journalists (TAJ) met with Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu at Raj Bhavan, Agartala on Saturday (27th January, 2024).
A delegation led by Eminent senior Journalist, Chief Editor of Syandan Patrika & Syandan TV and President of the Tripura Assembly of Journalists (TAJ) Subal Kumar Dey apprised the Governor about the various problems faced by journalists and media in Tripura. In the exchange of views of the journalists with the Governor, various demands of the journalists, various issues related to the overall improvement of the media.
Besides, they also demanded soon investigations in the murder of two journalists within two months in 2017, implementation of housing scheme for working journalists, expansion of health and general insurance opportunities for journalists as well as all media workers by relaxing the conditions, increasing the facility of accreditation card and bringing all qualified journalists of the State and to increase other professional opportunities for journalists.
The president of the Tripura Assembly of Journalists (TAJ) accompanied by Vice President of TAJ, Shekar Datta, Editors Shanit Debroy, Dr. Biswendu Bhattacharjee and Jayanta Debnath, Journalists Pratik Mahalanbish, Manish Acharjee, Prasenjit Bhattacharjee and Pranab Shil.
The Governor listen to the delegation of journalists with great sincerity and said that he would take appropriate initiatives. The delegation of the Assembly of Journalists hope that today’s courtesy meeting with the Governor will be fruitful for the journalists of the state.
