Republic Day 2024 : Celebrated 75th Republic Day With Due Respect & Dignity.

Agartala, 26th of January, 2024 : With the initiative of State Government of Tripura 75th Republic Day celebration programme has been conducted at Assam Rifles Ground, Agartala on Friday (26th January, 2024). In the presence of many participants the Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indra Sena Reddy Nallu unfurled the National Flag.

“The State Government has given priority to the development of agriculture and agriculture related sectors in the overall development of the state. 70 percent of people in agriculture-dependent Tripura are engaged in agriculture. Therefore, with the aim, growth of the income of the farmers, the Government has given importance to the planned development of the agricultural sector”,  Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu said at the celebration ceremony of 75th Republic Day. The Governor said that ₹ 640.40 crore have been given to the accounts of 2,45,339 farmers of the state under the “Pradhan Mantri KIsan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. So far 12.76 lakh farmers have been covered under the “Pradhan Mantri KIsan SAmman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme. The Governor said that Tripura is second in the country in the production of natural rubber. About 90,712 MT of rubber is produced in the state annually and many families earn their livelihood from rubber cultivation and related activities. 21 species of bamboo are cultivated in Tripura. There is also a great potential for the growth of the wicker industry in the state. At one time about 75 percent of incense sticks for the country’s incense sticks (agarbatti and dhoop) industry was supplied from Tripura. The State Government launched the Tripura Agar Wood Policy in 2021.

The Governor also added that as a result of this initiative of the government, the arrival of tourists in the state has increased and employment opportunities have also increased ‘Swadesh Darshan’ project is improving the infrastructure of important tourist places. A helipad at Narikel Kunja and Weekend Tourist Hub in front of Ujjayanta Palace have also been opened. Development of Tripureshwari Temple under ‘Prasad’ project is underway Adventure tourism like Powered Paragliding or Paramotoring paragliding has been started in Chabimura and Jampui Hill of Dumbur.

In the Republic Day celebrations, the Governor urged everyone to take inspiration from the biographies of the great leaders of the country for the development of the state.  He said, Tripura is moving ahead with the big states in various fields like culture, industry, education etc. Just as SD Barman, RD Barman to fame in the world court, many players from the state to fame in the field of sports. The State Government is providing assistance for more success in these areas.

On the occasion of Republic Day 2024, the names of police officers and personnel who have been conferred President’s Police Medal announced. This time Inspector of Police Debabrata Paul has received the President’s Police Medal, Deputy SP (Traffic) Dipak Kumar Sarkar, Inspector of Police Rana Chatterjee, Sub Inspector Pintu Majumder, Subeder Kaustab Bhattacharjee, Nayak Subeder Abdul Sahid, Habildar Binanda Jamatia received police medals.

Governor Nominated Best Forest Range, Second Best Forest Range and Third Best Forest Range for the year 2022-23 were awarded at the event. Rajnagar Wild Life Range got the best forest range award, Kanchanpur range got the second best forest range award, Durga Chowmuhani range got the third best forest range award. Sukanta Sarkar, Amiyo Sutradhar and Jagat Bahadur Debbarma respectively received the awards from Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu.

BSF, CRPF, Assam Rifles, TSR, Women TSR battalion, Tripura Police, Traffic Police, Forest Guards also participated in the parade at the main event of 75th Republic Day organized at Assam Rifles ground. Girls Guide, NSS, Civil Defense and Assam Rifles Public School. Commandant Karol Roy led the parade. Women TSR battalion stood first in the security section of the parade. Assam Rifles and TSR No. 14 Battalion came second and third. Assam Rifles Public School stood first in non-security category. NSS and NCC Senior Division Girls finished second and third. The students of various schools have presented their different kinds of traditional cultural programmes in the celebration ceremony.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha, Tripura Police DG Amitabh Ranjan, senior officers, students of various schools and many other dignitaries were present in the celebration ceremony.
