Distribution Of Uniforms Among The Prepaid Auto Rickshaw Drivers At MBB Airport.

With the initiative of Transport Department Government of Tripura distributed Uniforms among the Prepaid Auto Rickshaw Drivers at MBB Airport on Thursday (12th October, 2023). Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury distributed the Uniforms among the Prepaid Auto Rickshaw Drivers.

“MBB Airport in Agartala is the busiest and most beautiful airport among the North Eastern states. Apart from domestic and foreign tourists, many citizens travel through this airport every day. Prepaid auto drivers must have cordial relationship with the passengers on board. Only then will the reputation of the State increase among tourists and citizens of the country and abroad.”, Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury said at the distribution programme of Uniforms among the Prepaid Auto Rickshaw Drivers at the New terminal building of MBB Airport today. The event is organized by the Department of Transport 248 prepaid auto drivers were given this uniform on the occasion. The target is to provide uniforms to 300 prepaid auto drivers. This uniform will be given every year before Durga Puja.

Addressing at the distribution programme the Transport and Tourism minister also added that uniforms are being given to prepaid auto drivers to identify their involvement in airport passenger transport. Twenty flights land at MBB airport every day and twenty flights went back. In the future, this airport will become an international airport. He said the government will arrange health insurance for prepaid auto drivers.

Uttam Kumar Chakma, Secretary of the Transport Department, delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. IGP Soumitra Dhar, District Magistrate of West Tripura District Dr. Vishal Kumar, Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Maniklal Das, CISF Deputy Commandant Dharam Veer, officials of MBB airport and many other dignitaries were present in the programme.
