Sabroom, Tripura, 23rd of May, 2025 : The body of a nine-year-old girl child, Ujjashikha Tripura (9), daughter of Rahim Tripura of Kaladepa Nalsing Sardar Para, Manubazar Police Station under Sabroom Sub-division, was missing on Tuesday (20th May, 2025). The police of Manubazar police station searched for a long time till midnight but did not find anything and Wednesday morning, after a long search, disaster management people found the dead body at approximately 8 am in the forest next to the rubber plantation.
Sahel Tripura (18), the elder brother of Ujjashikha Tripura, a 9-year-old tribal girl from Nalsing Sardar Para, Manubazar Police Station under Sabroom Sub-division, has been arrested in the murder case. Ujjashikha’s mother, Sabita Tripura (37), was also brought to Manu police station for questioning.
After interrogation, the mother was released. On Thursday night, the police of Manubazar police station brought them from their house to the police station. Today, Friday morning, Sabita Tripura was released after interrogation. Sahel Tripura was arrested after interrogation on the basis of a confession and a murder case was accepted and sent to the Sabroom court at 2 pm. It is learned that the police will apply to the court for remand. South Tripura District Police Officer Namit Pathak gave details in front of the media in this regard.
