Agartala 12th of December : With the initiative of the Tourism Department Government of Tripura was organized Agreement of Exchange Ceremony & Press Meet at the Premises of Tripura State Museum, Ujjayanta Palace, Agartala on Monday (11th December, 2023).
Hon’ble Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport and Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury met with the former captain of the Indian cricket team, Sourav Ganguly at his residence in Kolkata on Tuesday (23rd May, 2023). Discussed the prospects of appointing Sourav Ganguly as the Brand Ambassador for tourism in Tripura. Sourav Ganguly accepted the proposal the Brand Ambassador of Tripura Tourism.

On the occasion of Agreement of Exchange Ceremony & Press Meet Sourav Ganguly urged the Government to promote cricket along with tourism and heritage. He said, he came in 1988 for the first time to play cricket tournament. So, after 35 years, coming here as a brand ambassador is a matter of emotion. Brand Ambassador, Tripura Tourism Sourav Ganguly Extended Gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury for entrusting the ambassador of Tripura tourism. He also added that, if there is an international match in neighboring Guwahati, why not here? Therefore, he emphasized on completing the construction of the cricket stadium under construction, he would be happy if he could use his cricket experience in Tripura cricket.
Hon’ble Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dipak Majumder, Uttam Kumar Chakma, Secretary of the Tourism Department, Tapan Kumar Das, Director of the Transport Department, Tripura Cricket Association president Tapan Lodh and many other dignitaries were present in the programme.
