Government Of Tripura Is Going To Launch VLTD.

Agartala, 23rd of November 2023 : The Transport Department of Government of Tripura is going to launch VLTD to connect the registered vehicles equipped with this device for providing Emergency Response Support. This step will play an important role in respect of safety of women in vehicles and sending of quick response team in the place of accident of vehicles. The vehicles will have an emergency button which after pressing the button will let the Control Room know the location of the vehicle. According to the reliable sources, the works of this project has already been started and the tenure of completion of work of this project has been assessed for thirty months.

What is VLTD : VLTD means Vehicle Location Tracking Device (VLTD). It provides advanced fleet tracking solutions utilizing the latest and most accurate IRNSS tracking technology. A VLTD combines the use of automatic vehicle location in individual vehicles with software that collects these fleet data for a comprehensive picture of vehicle locations. Vehicle information can be viewed on electronic maps via the specialized software of internet.

Vehicle tracking systems are also popular in consumer vehicles as a theft prevention by which the movement of the vehicles can be monitored in any time. Police can simply follow the signal emitted by the tracking system and locate the stolen vehicle and retrieve it. When used as a security system, a Vehicle Tracking System may serve as either an addition to or replacement for a traditional car alarm. Some vehicle tracking systems make it possible to control the vehicle remotely, including block doors or engine in case of emergency. The existence of vehicle tracking device then can be used to reduce the insurance cost, because the loss-risk of the vehicle drops significantly.

In the interest of public safety, the VLTD is going to launch in Tripura for the first time. In this regard a Control Room under Transport Department is going to established and its work is running fast to launch the project during the aforesaid tenure. A company based out of Tripura is doing the process obtained through tender in January 2023.
