Agartala, Tripura, 5th of June, 2025 : On the occasion of World Environment Day, Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indra Sena Reddy Nallu has participated in a tree plantation drive and planted a sapling at the Raj Bhavan, Agartala, Tripura on Thursday (5th June, 2025). Uttam Kumar Chakma Secretary of the Governor, officials and many other distinguished dignitaries were participated in the event.

Interacted with the media Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indra Sena Reddy Nallu said that Tripura has a large forest area. Along with the State Government, the people of the State must also play a necessary role in protecting this forest area. The Governor said this while participating in a tree plantation program organized on the occasion of World Environment Day at Raj Bhavan today. Raj Bhavan Secretary UK Chakma and other guests also planted trees on the occasion.

The Governor also added that that currently most of the big cities of the world are victims of various types of pollution. In this regard, the condition of the State of Tripura is much better. To maintain this situation, the people of the state will also have to take a role. He said that necessary steps should be taken to stop the indiscriminate use of single-use plastic. The common people should be encouraged to use jute and paper bags.
